Excess Personal Umbrella

 

 

Coverage is designed for applicants who desire higher limits and already have a personal umbrella policy.

Ineligible Excess Personal Umbrella

Please note we cannot offer coverage to the following:

  • Risks in the name of an entity other than an individual, husband and wife, civil union, etc.

  • Underlying coverage written on a commercial form (exception is business auto)

  • Household individuals convicted of a felony in the past five years

  • Household totals for driving history exceed acceptable maximums

  • Operator over age 22 with a DUI lives in same household as a youthful operator

  • Primary residence located in AK, LA or WV

Available Coverage for Excess Personal Umbrella

Coverage is available for:

  • High profile individuals

  • Applicants with poor driving records including driving under the influence

  • Youthful operators under age 23 and operators over age 69

  • Boats up to 75 ft. in length and speeds up to 50 mph

  • Up to four at fault accidents per household

  • Drivers with up to five violations

  • Households with up to 10 violations among all drivers

  • Risks with farm or ranch locations

Coverage Limits Available for Excess Personal Umbrella

  • Up to $10,000,000 for preferred risks and up to $5,000,000 for all other risks/all risks in FL

  • $1,000,000 for risks in AL, IN, MS, NH or VT as well as risks in FL with youthful operators

  • Minimum underlying requirement of $1,000,000 primary personal umbrella

  

 

Claim Example for Excess Personal Umbrella

You own a beach house with some friends. While renting the property out to others over a weekend, the renters have a party and someone falls off the rear deck and breaks his/her legs, resulting in several surgeries. You’re sued for medical expenses and pain and suffering. Your underlying homeowners policy paid $300,000 and we paid an additional $225,000

You own several Harley-Davidson motorcycles. Your underlying automobile carrier will not increase limits over $100,000/$300,000. A chain reaction accident occurs involving a tractor trailer and Bodily Injury to all claimants exceeds the underlying automobile limits. The underlying auto carrier paid the limit of $300,000 and we paid an additional $200,000

You are using your brand new jet ski on a lake. You don’t see a water skier who is already in the water preparing to make another run. You accidentally strike the water skier, who is injured severely. The underlying watercraft carrier paid $500,000 in Bodily Injury limit and we paid and additional $1,000,000

You must be an appointed USASIA Insurance Services retailer to use these programs. Quotes obtained via these programs will only be bound IF you are a previously appointed retailer with USASIA. PRIOR TO BINDING, check with your branch to determine any and all applicable taxes and fees.
